Jam4Jamison is a benefit concert that will raise money and awareness for the Jamison Alexander Franklin Medical Fund. Jamison, a 17-year-old high school student, was paralyzed in a car accident on January 24th, 2011, and the Franklin family is focused on finding a way to help their son. All donations go toward his rehabilitation and medical care. Big Freedia (pronounced "Free-da") is the undisputed "Queen Diva" of New Orleans Bounce Music. Bounce Music is an original urban music rising up from the intimate and fun-loving nature of the New Orleans housing projects which dominate the city's street culture, and Freedia performs a derivative of Bounce reserved for self-proclaimed "Sissies" (a locally used name for biological men with varied and ambiguous sexual identities) that has risen to prominence in recent years and features explicitly gay and cross-dressing musicians and themes. Big Freedia, like other "Sissy" artists, has achieved mainstream success with several New Orleans hit singles such as "Gin in My System" and "Azz Everywhere!". Since 2009 Freedia has begun traveling outside the city regularly with her dancers and live DJ, Rusty Lazer, playing to audiences on the East and West Coast alongside (or onstage with) artists such as Spank Rock, Ninjasonik, Japanther, Monique and many more. 9pm show / 18+ / Tickets are $10adv/$12dos

Zoe Boekbinder is "geek-glam", music for people who wear sequins to the library. In 2005, Zoe formed a band called Vermillion Lies with her sister,Kim Boekbinder. This twisted folk cabaret duo traveled the world charming audiences with their comedic songs. Being fiercely dedicated to music, Zoe began releasing her more personal material under her own name. In 2007, she released a seven song EP and toured the nation. Since then Zoe has been molding her style and is now ready to take over the world, with guitar and loop pedal in hand, one geek at a time. ROCK PAPER ROCK presents: SEBADOH / RICHARD BUCKNER
TICKETS ON SALE NOW. As much a collective of musicians as a band, Sebadoh was the quintessential lo-fi band of the '90s. Formed by singer/songwriter Lou Barlow while he was the bassist for Dinosaur Jr. in the late '80s, Sebadoh's music was a virtual catalog of '80s alternative rock and '90s indie rock. Upon parting ways with Dinosaur Jr. in 1989, Barlow turned his attention toward Sebadoh, a home-recording project that he and drummer/songwriter Eric Gaffney began in 1987. Eventually adding drummer/songwriter Jason Loewenstein, the trio became an indie rock sensation. Often, Sebadoh sounded schizophrenic, flipping between Barlow's sensitive folk-rock and Gaffney's noise experiments without warning. This very diversity became the band's calling card, and by 1992 the band had earned a devoted following. Sebadoh became one of the largest touchstones of '90s indie rock. Athens, Georgia’s Modern Skirts will once again be gracing the Bottletree stage with their wonderfully beautiful and brutal approach to alt-rock. Once cited as Mike Mills’ (REM) favorite Athens band, the Modern Skirts work diligently to create a stage presence that embraces their studio recordings, while also incorporating a unique energy that is oddly infectious. How I Became the Bomb will be joining the Skirts with their otherworldly pop tunes. Also considered an offbeat and energetic live act, HIBTB will undoubtedly grab your attention and quickly infiltrate your brain. $7 ADV/ $9 DAY OF

THE GREAT BOOK OF JOHN / K. TAYLOR & THE TWERPS / PRESTON LOVINGGOOD
Taking the name from an old Hank Williams song (Angel of Death) it would seem clear the direction that a band called The Great Book of John would take, but things are not always what they seem. The music and lyrics of The Great Book of John are based around the songwriting of Taylor Shaw (also known for playing guitar and making noise for Wild Sweet Orange). While it is an outlet for Taylor's songs, The Great Book of John is far from a singer-songwriter solo project, bringing in the talent of friends and bandmates, Bekah Fox on vocals, Alex Mitchell on upright bass, and Chip Kilpatrick (also from Wild Sweet Orange) on drums. This music posesses a dark but hopeful spirit with folk undertones, but delivers creativity and style that doesn't leave you there. The band, though relatively young, has gathered a diverse and indeed reverential following throughout Alabama and beyond. Dick, Kurt Weill and Jonathan Richman on their 13th release. Pushing boundaries, grudges, genres, heartstrings and parole conditions from the cow-punk thump of track "Disarming Smile" to the heartbreaking samba of "13 Years Without Peter King”, "The Anarchy  and The Ecstasy" showcases World/Inferno Friendship Society's refined songwriting style and virtuosic playing. Never fear though, the band hasn't lost the attitude you've come to expect in songs like "I Am Sick of People Being Sick of My Shit".
